Visit the Fornet, one of France’s highest villages (5 min from the centre by car) where chef Benoit Vidal and his team will delight you at l’Atelier d’Edmond, a warm and timeless chalet lost in the wonderful landscape. Alternatively, visit Le Bistrot Gourmand right opposite for lunch and a simpler but no less delicious menu crafted by the same experienced team.

La Grande Ours

Another Michelin-star chef mixing modernity and tradition is Antoine Gras, putting his own spin on local delicacies thanks to his signature sauces and seasonings.

Rustic and original

You don’t get more authentic than La Ferme de l’Adroit. Enjoy a slice of farm life and freshly cut homemade cheese, crafted next to the stables just a few meters away. The shortest possible farm-to-table experience!

How to get to Val d’Isère?

By Car

From Chambéry – Albertville, follow the A430, the dual carriageway up to Moûtiers before taking the N90 to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Finally, take the D902 towards Val d’Isère.

 

Sat nav users, watch out: navigation systems can suggest going up the Petit Saint Bernard or Col de l’Iseran passage, which are closed during the winter.
Arrive via Chamberry – Albertville – Vallée de la Tarentaise.

By Train

The greener way to reach the Alps is also the fastest and easiest.

 

– Travel directly to the Bourg-Saint-Maurice train station from Paris, Grenoble or Lyon or internationally with Eurostar and Thalys from London, Brussels, Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
– Access Val d’Isère by taxi, direct bus service or car (approximately 45 minutes) from the Bourg-Saint-Maurice train station.
