Les Arcs

A mountain of fun in high altitude

Visiting Les Arcs

The south-east-facing resort stretches masterfully over the Vanoise park, where holidaymakers delight in the magnificent high mountain panorama and the convivial pedestrian streets that run through the historic architecture. Les Arcs comprises several villages with each their own identity but sharing a harmonious development. From the large housing with unobstructed views of Les Arcs 1600 and 1800 to the more intimate comfort of Les Arcs 1950 and 2000, Les Arcs is one of the most versatile resorts in Savoie.

Beyond the historical and more recent initiatives to preserve its natural environment, the resort was recently awarded the “Flocon Vert” label, a first for the region for its sustainable initiatives.

This comes as no surprise to the regulars who enjoy the resort’s 425 km of slopes linked by express lifts within the aptly-named Paradiski (shared with La Plagne). So many modern facilities that allow holidaymakers to take full advantage of the area and take in its natural beauty either through nature awareness (mountain animal museum) or the panoramic terraces at the Carreley or the Aiguille Rouge peaks to best admire Mont Blanc and appreciate the 360° view.

The 5* Taj-I Mah hotel (part of Les Etincelles collection) and its teams of professionals from the region, look forward to welcoming you to Les Arcs with premium services including valet parking and a ski shop in the hotel, for a wonderful stay with the added spark provided by Les Etincelles.

Outdoor Activities

Ski, snowboard & other snow sports

Holidaymakers take pleasure exploring the largest European resort carved out of glacier and forest, with its 258 runs totaling 425 km, 70% of which are above 2000m, guaranteeing a great quality snow with express lifts to reach prime spots such as l’Aiguille Rouge, culminating at 3,226 metres. The resort is accessible to all ages and levels (the area is bisected by blue runs) or to have fun with snowshoes, mini snowmobiles, to make, skim the snow in yooner and snake gliss or to have fun on the rodeo sledge runs and test the jumps of the snowpark.

Les Arcs also offers ski enthusiasts the opportunity to open the day’s first tracks in the snow guided by certified instructors (with breakfast in high altitude) or with premium passes, to access many other ski and leisure activities.

Carefree holidays

Les Arcs welcomes snow sports enthusiasts of all levels with green slopes and marked areas for the safety of all and to enjoy a fun learning experience with children (Forêt des Pitchouns, piste des Cabanes) with gentle slopes surrounded by nature. Access the resort by funicular or take a leisurely stroll along the pedestrian streets or through the resort thanks to the pedestrian pass which allows you to meet your friends on skis to share moments together on the peaks.

Or take advantage of the unique setting to practice your favourite activities such as walking, yoga, pilates or other therapeutic or relaxation activities at high altitude while facing the mountain.

The resort also offers childcare solutions for your children from 3-months to 12-years old for some welcome rest.

Once-in-a-lifetime & fun activities

Take the mythical Tyrolean traverse (1800-m long, maximum speed 130 km/h) which runs from the Varet gondola at 2680 m above the old KL run, duo or solo, sitting or lying down for the most daring.

Other thrill seekers can try speedriding (with a paraglider or mini glider) to access the resort’s best kept secrets or have fun on a snow scooter with a certified instructor and guide. Try a short expedition to the Yurt, after a short snowshoe walk to taste the local specialities among the trees.

For less physical activities, let the dogs sledge lead you along the trails, or visit the Igloo village and its ice cave at the bottom of the Arcabulle chairlift, to admire 400m2 of frozen treasures with aperitif or dinner options.
